Such campaigns can be short or long term, and usually include strategic planning, writing of press materials, organizing press events and announcements, developing a targeted press list, mailing and e-mailing services and follow-up media relations.

Media training is also provided to ensure that the client relates to the press in a credible way. Mock interviews, "talking points," and do's and don'ts of dealing with the media are covered so that the client is fully prepared for interviews and other press events.
